Scratch Jr.

In room 4, we found a coding program called "Scratch Jr" and it's a coding program where you can make an animation about different things. Here's a picture of it!. I'd rate it out of 7/10, because it's fun but it's kind of hard to use as sometimes you can't delete stuff, and you can randomly click on something that you don't want to click on, I think you should play it because it's really fun and you can make your own animations about different things.

QuickWrite

22 November ~ Here's my quick write about dinosaurs, it's not finished yet!

Dinosaurs


And…that’s it- dinosaurs ARE gone. My friend really loved dinosaurs...until they were extinct..
- She was upset but she found a way, to see the dinosaurs one last time, but she just can’t get them
back- she told me that she made a time machine that can make you go back in time, that’s CRAZY!
She even finished it in a day...she said if she tried bringing back dinosaurs they’ll still be extinct and she
couldn’t even bring them back. “Alright, are you ready?” “Yes!” My friend setted the time machine and
we jumped in to when everyone didn’t kill dinosaurs- “OMG WERE ACTUALLY HERE! EEEEEEK!”
“don’t be too excited,” “don’t you remember..we can only stay here for 24 hours.” “Oh right…” “LET’S
JUST FIND THOSE DINOSAURS!-” we walked around - and FINALLY we found dinosaurs!
“YEEEEEES” “wow-”  “that’s actually-” “c’mon I don’t wanna waste time!” “A-” “dinosaurs aren’t actually
dangerous..hmm I wonder why they kept killing them..” “OMGG” “I should of brought a camera..”
“well we have time..go get a camera then!” “i’ll be waiting” “Ok!” “Where is she? It’s been 10 minutes..”
“Hmm.. why can’t..I..” “n-no..” “is that her bag?.” “OMG, her camera is literally in her bag!”

Commenting Time #2

For the last thing on lesson 5, we had to do comment again for someone in our class, someone from our cluster and someone from the junior class.

 This is the comment for someone in our class:
Hi Grace, I really liked how you put facts for 3 animals. This made me think about how sad it would be if all the animals were endangered. Next time you could work on putting more facts.

Famous Landamarks

For the first thing on lesson 5, we had to pick one of the landmarks in our country and write 2 facts about the landmark. We also have to write about a landmark in NZ, and why you should visit it. 

  1. Jigokudani Monkey Park – Famous hot spring with live monkeys, here is the picture of it:

2. If your in Japan you can go there because it's not far from town.
Famous NZ, Landmark. 
- Mount Cook 
You should go there, because it's the highest mountain in NZ, and you can go hiking there, visit lakes and there's a good view at the top.

This is F, her name isn’t actually F, no one knew what her name actually is, because...her
parents just said her name is “F.” Anyways it goes the same with her 2 friends ”A” and “B”
they’re both sisters. F has black hair, her hair is mostly in a bun, she’s ten years old. She
wears a grey dress, obviously a girl, wears glasses and has teal eyes and she doesn’t
smile…A is 8 years old, she has blonde hair obviously wears a bun, and a white dirty
dress, a girl, doesn’t smile... has black eyes. B is a girl, 8 years old too, blonde hair her
hair is in a bun, black eyes, smiles, wears a grey dress. Anyways when they were there,
they met a really strict main-tran, her name is “Miss Z” they were all surprised that her
name was just “Z” alright so when they toured the place it didn’t really look, good…”GO
TO SLEEP!” yelled miss Z “b-but, what about dinner..?” “NO DINNER!” “okay…” “ugh
c’mon B!...” “o-okay..” “all of them couldn’t sleep, they couldn’t take it anymore they were
being bossed around and yelled at..they had to do something….F sneaked out while A
and B were sleeping. F packed her things, and A and B’s things, woke them up,
but before they could leave..miss Z caught them…”WHAT ARE YOU KIDS DOING!?”

- There's a cherry blossom festival. (But it can only be enjoyed for 2 weeks)
- There's a REALLY high sky walk, and it's the highest. (it became the highest sky walk in 2010)

New Church

In room 4, we did a quick write about the new church, that had just been re- built because it was leaking and it was old. And we also had to describe how it looked like in the inside and the outside, too. So this is mine!


New Church

When I was heading to the church I church was colored white, and there was a big cross on the roof. So I went in the Church it looked very different, the roof was different and, the holy water wasn’t there instead it was near the seats. When I went to sit down, I saw a yellow tree on the side of the wall, there was also another yellow tree on the other side. Then when I looked at the front I saw a statue of Mary and I think the name of it is “Mary Full of Grace.” Also Father talked about the new stuff in the church. There was also stations of the cross, also I think a statue of St. Bernadette’s, and I think that’s pretty much it.

Caught in the Storm

Caught in the Storm
 It was a cold wet rainy day when everyone saw a HUGE storm it was blowing away so much things! But when I was walking to school without knowing there was a storm I didn’t even see the school!!!!! But when I heard someone scream AHHH STORM!!!!!! I quickly turned around and ran very far and the storm was catching up to me so I ran as fast as I could but when I looked around I saw the playground getting caught in the storm!!!! AHH! I screamed I saw the storm going to the farm but it turned and it twisted, heading towards me! AHHHHHHHHHHHH I screamed louder the storm caught up with me but I ran to my house hid behind a bush and I started to get goosebumps I was scared but the storm didn’t even know where I was and the cars started to get caught in the storm, the storm twisted and it began to hail and it was getting colder and colder so I quickly ran inside the house and I hid behind the couch were the door was closed to and the windows so if the storm was coming then I could escape quickly and easily and then I looked out the window and saw the storm coming to my house so I went out the window and then I…….almost got caught in the storm!!!!!!!!!! But luckily I opened the house gates and when out the garden into the shed and locked myself in but the storm was too fast that it nearly blow the shed away! I was super worried! But luckily there was a door leading to a bed, shower and some food and drinks AND….. it was a storm shelter! I forgot about that so I went down the ladder and opened the door and there was a small cracked window, so I went to the window looked outside and I saw nothing I thought it was just a fake window or something. I was starving! So I got out some food and water and just ate while the storm was going…..but I heard people screaming and suddenly they opened my gate but good thing the shed was locked! LET US IN!!!!! I didn’t answer because they’ll just keep banging on the door!!! AHHH they screamed they got caught in the storm! I was in deep silence what’s going on!!?!?!?!? Suddenly the window broke! and suddenly it was a fake window! Someone must of glued it there….but then the…..STORM STOPPED!!!! YAY! I didn’t hear a sound though but I got out of the shed and went outside everyone was crying because there houses got down even mine! Except the shed but builders came and fixed their houses even mine so yeah the builders even had to fix the playground and stuff because it got caught in the storm. The End

The color pills
 I opened my eyes and...I saw this creature looking at me he looked like someone that I know from a movie. He said “are you alright?” I thought I was dreaming and said “uhhh yes” but after I said that he offered me to help with something, so I did it was sorting out these pills that he just got, “thank you!” he said “would you like to have a pill for helping me out?” “uhh sure” here are the colors. He told me all about it the pills, and I chose the blue pill…”are you sure you want this?” “yes” “it would only last 24 hours” “aw okay,” so I said “thank you!” and tried the pill out it said I could fly, swim and teleport?. Hm, what’s the best way to go to my family? woah what is that? A long river woah that just reminded me of something! hmmm maybe I could swim?? But doesn’t that lead to somewhere else?. I’ll just teleport! So I teleported to the river where I blacked out. Huh? Why am I here! Oops, heh my fault it’s been like 5 minutes..at least it’s going to last a few hours so I teleported to my family! I was so happy to see them and I told them all about my magical adventure!. When I got home I still used it and I played a little trick on my siblings hehehe, but when I got to sleep I was upset because it’s going to wear out!.

 OH AND, you must be wondering what happened to the other pills? well, he gave the other pills to lots of people, I was hoping I could see him again.

The book of myths and legends

Hundreds AND hundreds of years ago, people were talking about monsters
and giants coming but no one actually knew what was coming.
Years later a mysterious knight rode on his horse holding a flag on a hill,
then suddenly I saw metal monsters and...I saw a ghost face? But something
looked very strange...I saw the ground getting darker and the sky getting
brighter and I also noticed that half of the sky was dark, blue and the other half
was light blue. I heard the flying ship’s flag kinda flew into the wind making a
blowing sound. Then the knight said “ATT-” “wait...this land is special.. Don’t
attack!” “wait what?” “HOW!?” said the metal monster “JUST ATTACK!” “fine!
”. AAH! Everyone screamed a lot of them got hit by a sword..and we all didn’t
survive. (After I read the book). That’s really...something...

Kia ora! my name’s Fria and I am 9 years old, I am a year 5 and i’m in room 4!. I go to school at St
Bernadette’s school in Christchurch my teacher is Miss Holland, I was also born in the Philippin
es.  


My favorite food is KFC! And my favorite ice cream flavor has to be Cookies and Cream.
My favorite animals are puppies/dog cats/kittens and turtles!, my favorite subject at school is
reading also writing. I like to go to different places but not all the time.

How did I end up here?

WALT: Create a story around a tiger and a samurai.

In class we've been writing stories based on pictures, and we did a brainstorm
about the tiger and the samurai, then wrote a story how'd you ended up there in
a dark place.


How did I end up here?


I woke up feeling weird, when I looked in the mirror I saw myself turned into a
samurai even my dog turned into a tiger! We found a portal...so we went through
it because we thought if we would go through it, it might lead to something…..th
at could turn us back to normal, and found ourselves in a really dark place.... I th
ought I was dreaming, this place looked very dark there was no sunlight. I didn’t
know what to do... I fainted! And… when I woke up I found myself and my dog/
tiger in a cave, it was really dark, I couldn’t see anything!!!. Hello? My voice
echoed ROAR! My tiger roared so I can know he was there, I tried to find my wa
y out, AHH! A puddle!? It wasn’t  actually a puddle...it was a deep hole to get home…
OMG! MY ROOM! I quickly ran to a mirror and then I wasn’t a samurai and my
dog wasn’t a tiger! YAY! It’s all gone back to normal!.

Our school! Information Report

Our School!


Our school is a Catholic school and we have a church, our school is called St Bernadette’s
School.

We have 132 people in our school. We have 7 teachers, 6 teacher aides and we have stu
dent teachers, including the principal and Henk the caretaker. He fixes things in school and
he looks after the school.

In our school we have uniforms that we have to wear, also P.E uniforms that we could wear
if we ever have P.E and we
can also wear it if we have winter sports, for our P.E gear we wear Pants or Shorts and a
light red top. Then we have our school uniform that we wear
normally it’s a white polo fleece shirt/long sleeve, we also wear a bluish reddish dress/short
s that girls wear with a tie for winter. And we wear black shoes and blue and white socks.
And boys wear a grey long sleeve/ Shirt with grey shorts and grey also a tie for winter.

In our school we have C.E.R.R values they are very important to the school, the first one is
Compassion it means helping others and sharing love, Excellence means trying your best
and never giving up!. Responsibility means picking up rubbish and taking care of others,
Respect means showing respect to others and
being really nice to people also following the rules.

In our school we have buildings like classrooms of course, all of our classrooms are
colorful!, and we have a classroom that we use for kiwi can, we also have playgrounds and
a sand pit, skipping ropes and balls. We have a big school!. We even have a Church and
a hall, P.E shed, staff room, bathrooms, office, sick bay for people who don’t feel well and
there’s also a toilet in there, it has a bed. Principal's office, photocopier room, a big corridor,
rugby field, netball court and basketball court, checkers on the court, hopskotch, shape ta
g, handball, prayer garden, garden with trees and plants, 3 drinking fountains, blue fish on t
he court and rubbish bins.


In our school we have choir, culture club, homework club and breakfast club!.

I really like this school because everyone is nice, and it’s a really fun school!, you should
go
to this school because you might like it and you could make friends.

How to plant a seed

How to plant a seed
Follow these simple instructions to make a plant!


What you need: A seed, pot, soil/dirt, watering can full of water and gloves also the sun!

Step one: Put your gloves on


Step two: Get your pot and put your soil/dirt in the pot, then make a hole in the soil that's where the seed will go                       


Step three: Next you put your seed in the hole of the soil/dirt, then cover the hole  with the soil/dirt


Step four: then after you’ve covered the seed with soil/dirt water it                      


Step five: After that, make sure it gets plenty of sun!         

Step Six: Finally when it gets plenty of sun and watering, then it will become a plant!
