Group Writing - Mr WoodPecker

In class the teacher put us into groups of three and our teacher also gave a setting, character, problem and we have to do the solution. And into our groups of three we each had to work on something I worked on the problem my other group members worked on setting and character when we had done that we have to do the solution all together and take all the writing and put it into one slide!

W6 Shared Slideshow

In reading time, each week we have a shared slide show that we have to do and that is when our reading group does a task on the shared slide show.

For our task we had to make a mindmup or we could do it directly on the slide show about the setting, characters, feelings, action, problem and outcome! We also had to write an example from the text. Our story was called "the boy and the rat" and when we did it we also commented feedback on each others.

Before we did it, we looked at our feedback from W2 and see how we could improve for this week's shared slide show!

Learn why summer is my favourite season!

In class we had to write about what our favourite season is, and mine is summer. Also we had to think about writing it with paragraphs as well, we also had to set it up like - introduction, reasons and conclusion. We also had to draw a picture that would go with our writing, I choose a ice cream and a sun because it describes summer, and I wrote about it in my story too! What's your favourite season?

This is my writing! And you can find out why I like summer!


Winter is too cold, the trees are always bland when it is autumn. Spring is too cold like winter because you just came out of winter. But in summer it’s hot but you get a chance to go to the pools, beaches, eat ice cream and more.


Another example is that in summer when it is too hot, you can go to the pool and the beaches and it can cool you off when you are very hot. It can also relax you when you are at the beach and it would be fun to play around with your friends at the beach or the pool.


Furthermore, when you are hot and you can’t go to the pools or the beaches you can eat ice cream, because it is very hot, it can also cool you off as well and you can’t eat ice cream in winter but if you want you might get cold hands and you also might get sick.


Summer is my favourite season because school holidays happen and we get six weeks off from school and that gives us more time to hang out with friends and family as well! Also it is near Christmas!


Summer also gives you the time to go outside and play sports with your friends if you are bored, because it is not cold and it is the perfect weather to also do a lot of sports like netball, soccer and more!


Those are all of my reasons why summer is my favourite season!

My Shared Slideshow

In our classroom (room 5) everytime we do reading, we also do shared slideshows with our task on it and we have to do the task on the same slideshow and we had to give feedback, so my feed my is to add more detail and information and to also add an example of what the character in the story did. The first slideshow your going to see is our week 2 one with my group this is where they did the feedback and the next slideshow is the slideshow I worked on to improve.

Learn a new strategy!

At maths time, we had to do a task while we were waiting for our group to get called to learn about fractions. That task was to create a dlo to teach others about our strategy that we learnt last week. From my dlo I found doing the example quite hard because i'm not good at explaining things so I hope you guys can understand what I mean! - And this is my dlo! After you have finished looking through it I will have some questions at the bottom for you to answer!

The Three Sacraments of Initiation!

WALT: Name the three Sacraments of Initiation and their purpose. 

In class we are learning about the 7 Sacraments, and for our task we had to learn about the three sacraments of initiation and they are; baptism, confirmation and Eucharist. We had to also watch a video and read about the three sacraments initiation. After that we had a task and it was to make a dlo and to explain what the three sacraments initiation are, and their purpose.

- Baptism

 Baptism is when the Priest dips the person who is going to get baptised into holy water, and they become apart of the church and be cleaned from original sin with just through holy water and word. The person who is going to get baptised has to wear white and usually when your a baby you get baptised but you can do it at any age.

 - Confirmation

 Confirmation is when the Bishop places his hand on your forehead and says words so you can continue your journey with God, and to also grow your relationship with him. You will also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

 - Eucharist

 Eucharist is another word for thanksgiving. And Eucharist is when is when the bread and wine is given to you, which is also the Christ’s body and blood. When you are a kid and receive your holy communion you are only allowed to eat the bread not the wine you can drink the wine when you get older. The priest also says sacred words before you eat the bread and wine.

Apostrophes

WALT: identify how to use apostrophes correctly. Mrs Lee, our teacher thought we should learn apostrophes because in our writings we have been getting mixed up with our Apostrophes. So Mrs Lee told us to to complete 3 activity sheets about apostrophes and then we had, to make a poster telling people about apostrophes!

Praying with the Psalms

In room 5, when we do morning prayers the teacher puts up Psalms on the screen and for two weeks we had to choose a psalm that stood out to us and write it in a doc, and some of us shared what we wrote! and on friday we put all our psalms that we wrote in our doc and we had make it into a poster! We had two choices it was to do it on a google drawing or do it directly on to the slideshow I did mines directly on the slideshow, it was really fun doing it. This is unfinished but it will be updated! And it will have ten psalms on it!
