What Respect Means

In class we have been having problems and the principle had to come in two times because the first time it just kept happening again so he came in and said if this happens again he'll be taking our fun day. So our task was to make a biteable (at first we didn't know what it was) about respect and what it means.

But firstly we had to make a google doc typing what respect means to us and it had to be really thoughtful so we're going to be doing it in class and in the playground aswell! Then we had to createa biteable saying all of it!

I really enjoyed making it on biteable because it was my first time and I thought it would be hard to use but it was actually simple and easy. And I didn't really find anything diffcult/hard to do because the task was simple!

This is my biteable!

And the winner is..

WALT: combine prior and new knowledge to come up with new ideas

For reading our group 'Sophie' we read a book called "And the winner is..." which was about four friends having a competition which was who could use the lawn mower to cut the grass the fastest.

So for our activity we had to design/create a new lawn mower which would be more fun for kids so they could mow the lawn! I enjoyed designing because it was fun coming up with new ideas!

This is my lawnmower

Come and Join.. Summer Learning Journey!!

Today, Emma who is part of the summer learning journey team has come and told us more about summer learning journey so what we had to do is to make a poster advertising people to join it! It has all the facts about it. Like when it ends and when it starts and other things like that.

Market Day

For this term our school has been planning to do another market day! So our class has been choosing of what to sell for market day, we have been coming up with lots of ideas like waffles, slushies, spiders, pie face, water balloon throwing, bracelets and more. So we had a good discussion (profits, price and a lot more) about what we were going to sell for market day. Other classes will also be selling stuff.
-
Our class will be selling: spiders (fizzy drink with ice cream on top), pie face (you can play the game), waffles, sponge throwing (throw sponges at a certain person), briquettes (things you could put in your fireplace) and lollies in jar (you guess how many are in the jar and if you guess it right you get the lollies.

In class we have been put into groups of four to plan and make posters about the certain item that we're going to be selling. For our planning we have to include the price, profit and the things that we will be needing after that we had to make our own posters, but we we're still in groups. So we could have four different posters going around. For our posters we had to include the price and a sentence to go with what your selling.

This is my poster that I did!

My Resloution For Christmas

WALT: Recall how Mary heard the word of God and acted it.

For our RE lesson we have been learning about Mary and for lesson three we had to write a resolution for Christmas, which was to think about something good that we can do for Christmas, and be like the Disciple of Christ.

Then we had to design a poster putting what we're going to do for Christmas.
I enjoyed doing the whole thing because it was fun decorating and mostly just thinking about being grateful, and I didn't really find anything diffcult because I enjoyed it!
This is my poster.

My Mural!

WALT: combine pior and new knowledge to come up with new ideas

In our reading group we have been reading a passage called "watch this space." It is about a big wall which is plain and grey and kids draw their ideas on a piece of paper and a artist paints their ideas on the wall.

So our activity was to make our OWN mural which is like a design on a wall. So we could make anything like a pattern. And we also had to make a flowchart on how to do it, and what you will need!
Something I found diffcult was thinking of what to draw but then I just added shapes and stuff and it turned out to this!
I really enjoyed making it because you could add anything and you could be creative about it.

Christmas Acrostic Poems!

We have been learning about different types of writing this year. So for the past weeks we had to choose a type of writing (category/genre.) For example persuasive, narrative, poems and more. So we had to pick one each day and post it on our blog. I choose to do a poem we could choose any type like a diamante or a acrostic and more!

I chose to do an acrostic poem about Christmas (because it's almost Christmas). But instead of just writing one sentence I came up with sentences so it would be more interesting and not boring, I also came up with some words to do so I didn't just do one word and then I'm finished I wrote about four long acrostic poems!

These are all my poems!!

- Christmas
Christmas is a special holiday because it’s Jesus’s birthday!
Heaps of presents being given out
Red and white is Santa’s colors
It is a day when you get to spend time with your family
Santa Claus gives out presents when it’s Christmas but only to good kids
The kids all scream happily as they open their presents!
Mostly everyone celebrates Christmas
A lot of people say “Merry Christmas” when it’s Christmas time
Snowflakes fall down from the sky as Christmas begins

-Snow
Snowflakes softly landing on the ground
No eating the snowflakes!
On the snow making a snow angel
Walking on the hard ice that used to be snow

- Decorations
Decorating for Christmas
Everyone helps to decorate around the house
Constantly putting Christmas lights all around the house
Outstanding decorations that was everyone did
Reindeers being put on the Christmas tree
Always helping to decorate
Taking the star and putting it up on the Christmas tree
Icy decorations being put on the Christmas tree
Only the good decorations get put around the house
Newly put decorations on the Christmas tree
So much options to choose from

- Merry Christmas!
Making Christmas more joyful by saying “Merry Christmas!”
Everyone always says “Merry Christmas”
Running around the whole house greeting family
Rushing around greeting family while trying to make presents
Yay! It’s Christmas “Merry Christmas”

Christmas is in December and when it is Christmas, you always need to say “Merry Christmas”
Heaps of people greeting other people
Running around the town greeting other people
In the house underneath the Christmas tree while your family greets you
Saying “Merry Christmas” all day long
Talking about Christmas
Merry Christmas is what you say when it is Christmas
Always saying the greeting whenever it’s Christmas
Santa saying “Merry Christmas” to his elves
